The first map I ever submitted to ProFantasy’s Community Atlas was a Sea Elf Outpost — a small fortress that aquatic elves had carved beneath an island’s bedrock. Part of the fortress is underwater, making it a bit of a challenge for player characters to visit.
Here’s a small gallery of images from the outpost.
- The island from above. No one would believe an entire fortress is hidden here.
- A cross section revealing the rooms and tunnels beneath the island.
- A grotto where the sea elves can visit with other intelligent aquatic creatures like intelligent octopi.
- The chapel, partially underwater and partially above sea level.
- Marine bedrooms. Note the use of hammocks where residents can tie themselves in so they don’t float away in their sleep.
