The coinpurse looks like any ordinary bag for coins, but it is enchanted similar to a Bag of Holding save that it can only hold coins and gemstones.
The Coinpurse of Holding is able to hold from 10,000 to 100,000 coins of any denomination. Each coin takes up the same amount of room, regardless whether it is a copper piece or a platinum coin. The coinpurse can also gold precious and semiprecious gems, with each gem taking up the space equivalent to its value in gold coins. (A small diamond worth 1,000 gp will therefore take up ten times more space than a large garnet worth 100 gp.)
The purse cannot holding anything other than coins or gems. Any object that is not a coin or gem will fall through the bag and land on the ground with no other effect. (A Portable Hole, for example, will simply fall through the bag without creating an extradimensional rift.) In addition, the coinpurse cannot hold anything magical, so enchanted gems or coins will also pass through and fall to the ground.
The bags all appear to be the same size regardless of capacity. They do not require attunement but will only operate for the person who has strapped it to their body. That person can reach in to remove any number of coins in the available denominations desired (assuming those coins have previously been added to the coinpurse). As the purse only operates for the person wearing it, attempts to pick it automatedly fail.
