Thirío is the Theosi god of animal life, creator of all of the unintelligent creatures of the surface world.
He resides in an earthly palace called Trypóno. The palace is depicted as being accessible through unexpected natural earthen places – the back of a cave, a hillside crevice, hidden in a grove of trees, and, most commonly, by entering through a hole in a giant tree. He rules there with his wife Iouloúdia, creator of all of the plant life on the earth, and with their three adult children: Arotro, the god of agriculture and livestock; Kynígi, the goddess of hunting and of the untamed wilds; and Kósmimo, the god of mountains and of the earth’s metals, gems, and mineral resources.
